At P4, we believe in partnering with the many strong and vibrant organizations that make up the poetry slam community. Below are just a few organizations who have chosen to join us in our mission.
Poetry Slam, Inc.Poetry Slam, Inc. oversees the international coalition of poetry slams. PSI certifies local
slams as adhering to the vision slam's founders established for the art form.
It also organizes and produces three annual championship slam tournaments: the Individual World Poetry Slam (iWPS), the National Poetry Slam (NPS), and the Women of the World Poetry Slam (WOWps). PSI’s current president is Scott Woods.
Chicago Slam Works
Active for over 25 years, CSW is a
cornerstone of slam poetry, and is the institutional home of the Uptown Slam, founded by Marc Smith, the originator of poetry slams
themselves. The CSW’s primary focus is on educating people, communities and
institutions to the power and unifying force of performance poetry!
Write Bloody Publishing
Quite simply the best source for
performance poetry in print, and much, much more. If you love poetry, and maybe
poets even more, this is definitely an enterprise worth supporting.
The Randforce Associates, LLC
Helping the P4 to develop a
comprehensive indexing and access strategy, The Randforce Associates specialize
in the taxonomy design and indexing strategies for oral history
recordings. They are helping us develop
a unique and robust sub-tape indexing strategy for individual poet and poem
access within long slam recordings.
The Tasty Brains
The Tasty Brains have developed a
webcasting appliance that allows performance venues to easily and efficiently
stream their content live on the internet. The partnership between P4 and the Tasty Brains will allow participating venues the opportunity to not only live stream their content, but also capture and preserve those streams for posterity.
